30 Day Tumblr Challenge
DAY THREE
A picture of you and your friends.
I know, I know. It says A picture. Sorry, can’t do it.
There are too many people I love and they are from too many places on this planet and I met them through too many different circumstances. I’m pretty sure that unless and until I get married, I’ll never have them all in the same place for a single photo (and even then…), so, I had to choose a bunch of pics.
From the top:
01 - My Urban Family, here in NYC. Bridget, Kate, Aurelia and me. Aurelia I met first, Bridge and Kate through Aurelia…and I love them all dearly. This silly photo came from one of the best nights ever, crashing a house party in the West Village and drinking too much free champagne in the loft.
02 - Cousins from both sides of my family, both of whom have been my roommates at one time or another. Shirley is in the middle and she grew up in Ireland, when I studied there in college, she and I were roomies and we’re bonded for life. Cait is on the right, and she and I are only 8 days apart (9 days in a leap year). She’s my current roommate, one of my best friends, and one of the only people who understands the true insanity of our Dads’ side of the family.
03 - THE JBFA GIRLS! I love each and every one of them dearly. That trip to NYC was such a blast I can’t even… So much awesome. That photo makes me smile every time I see it.
04 - MY WIFE! Jenna is honestly one of the most important people in my universe of friends and I do not want to imagine my life if we had not met through the JBFA. In December we celebrate our two year Friend-a-versary, and I can’t believe its only been two years since we met.
05 - Karen and I. This photo is ANCIENT! We were still in college! In case you couldn’t guess, K was my roommate through most of college and is consequently not only stuck with me for life, but one of the most important friends I’ve ever had. We got each other through a lot, I think, and I cannot imagine my life without her. She’s the yin to my yang, and we’re platonic life partners. For real.
And those photos only scratch the surface. There are too many people those photos don’t include. From Mexico with the girls this August to Ehren and Rob and my college boys to my Hanson girls, to my home friends who I’ve held close forever to the folks I’ve been picking up along the way as I wander through life. I’m really blessed to have so many people who mean so much to me. I wish I could get them all in one picture, though!
